NOW SOLD AND HEADED TO WISCONSIN! CONGRATULATIONS MARK!! Meet “BIC,” a great Olde English white 1959 Bugeye, chassis number AN5L 5945. We’ve named this one after Donald Healey’s son Brian “Bic” Healey, who signed this car in 1999. This Frogeye was extensively restored in 1996, with thousands of dollars invested. The car has an upgraded 1098 engine for more power, and disk brakes for better stopping. Electric fuel pump and front sway bar are already fit. Tires are very good 175/70s, bigger than stock for extra grip and better braking, and about five years old with lots of tread left.
The underside is excellent and the top sides look great too. We’ve just put in new carpet, door seals and panels, as they were showing some wear. Now the interior is excellent! A spare tire, good top and windows, and a used tonneau (needs a patch), are all included.
This car shows 8700 miles. We’ve just gone through and serviced the car with a new slave cylinder and rear hub reseal. We’ve also put in a new carb-to carb bridge line, new fuel filter, new needles and seats, new rich needles, and other carb parts as needed including one new jet. Already fit are spin on oil filter conversion and pertronix ignition module. We also removed the heater fan switch and put back in a pull pull fan switch in the right place and a proper washer pump in its proper home. We also have all the records from the restoration on the way, so those will be available to photograph and add to this listing sometime next week.
This is a strong and solid car in a very popular color combination. This Sprite is ready for great fun, as Spring emerges early this year (at least in the Northeast!)
