Bugeye Sprite door seal install tips

One great secret for getting Sprite door gaskets to stay put is to use the barbed clips on the flange. These little buggers bite into the metal flange quite well, and give the jaws of the weather strip something more positive to grip. Simply press the clips on and then slide the weather strip over them. Then squeeze the weather strip tight with flanging pliers to make the best seal.

Many cars come here with weather strip that refuses to stay put. These little clips help a lot. On this car, you’ll notice the old pieces were glued in place by the prior restorer, perhaps because the clips were not previously present. We’ll clean off the glue residue and rely on the clips to do the job from here on in.
