Cat is now sold and will be heading to Northern NJ. Congratulations David and Lynn!

This is an excellent restored Austin Healey Sprite we call “Cat.” She’s AN5L 15724, built in the first part of 1959 and extensively restored in about 2010 with all rust removed and new sheet metal welded in place. Then the car was painted in beautiful British racing green. She has a low mileage upgraded 1275 engine and upgraded front disk brakes, along with a flip forward nose that makes engine access a dream.

The car was also upgraded with an alternator conversion and twin master cylinders from a later Sprite, which is a later evolution for the brake and clutch hydraulics that makes service much easier. Interior is all new, with new seat covers and foam. It’s excellent.

This nose is weight saving fiberglass that fits quite well and looks completely stock other than the two telltale plastic caps a few feet above the bonnet straps. These are the through bolts to hold the bonnet adjusting struts that allow you to adjust the wings. Not all fiberglass noses have these and they are nice because they allow a good nose fit.

Fuel tank is new, along with most if not all of the rubber gaskets. All chrome components are new, as is the wiring harness, a correct reproduction. We’ve just put in new radius arm bushings to tighten up the rear end, and we’ve completely rebuilt the rear brakes, rear hydraulics and axle seals.

No top, tonneau or windows, as this was always a fair weather car, but we can add all that if you like, in black, or perhaps in tan if you like that look. We do a lot with tops and tonneaus, and custom colors and materials, to build the best custom Bugeye. No heater yet either, as this was also only a summer car, but we have restored heater kits we can add if you like. It’s common for our cars to have a build out phase where we customize the car to the new owners specifications.

This is an excellent restored bugeye worth serious consideration if you are looking for a well-sorted Bugeye you can enjoy right now.Call or email for more details and pricing information, and we can send Cat right to your door!
