1966 Mustang Fastback for sale–GT clone built 302/Borg Warner 5 speed Awesome!

IMG_1560
Now sold and heading to Scott in Rhode Island! Another great car joining his collection in his custom garage, the eighth from us!!!! We’ve sent two Bugeyes, MGA coupe and roadster, TR3, MGTD, Morris Traveler and now this Mustang… a great collection. Thank you and congratulations!

I love all classic cars, and this is a 66 Mustang Fastback that exactly matches a slot car I lapped around my childhood bedroom in the 60s until the tires melted off. Not your average Bugeye, but a total love object, and it’s exceptionally quick. It has a built 302 engine and a Borg Warner five speed transmission upgrade, which makes it a joy to drive and with an overdrive, you can really enjoy this car on highway trips. It’s so nice and so powerful I thought a lot about keeping this car myself, but it takes up the space of at least two Bugeyes, so it needs to go to a good new home. With this car, you can feel like Steve McQueen, and be the next King of Cool. I’ve seen many similar Mustangs in the $30-50k range without the expensive five speed upgrade. This car is reasonably priced for just $27,995.

NEW! Drive it below!

This is an A code Fastback that was completely restored as a tribute GT car. The built 302 has some serious power and the wonderful Tremec five speed transmission allows the driver to enjoy it through a very wide range. This car pulls hard and doesn’t seem to ever run out of steam. She handles and stops well too. Wider tires are nearly new. Wheels look right too. It’s all very well done.

The interior is excellent. The paint is excellent, a high caliber silver metallic with the right black stripes. There is one scratch on the trunk that has been touched-up, but otherwise, it’s very hard to find any imperfections on this car. The main impression you get is of a fantastically clean and well-restored evergreen classic, that will never go out of style.

We purchased a collection from a friend in Maryland who was thinning his herd, and this was one of his prized classics we were lucky to acquire. Stay tuned for some more non-Bugeyed classics!
